I received my Bachelors Degree in 194 from the University of Oklahoma
and my Ph.D. in 1990 from the California School of Professional
Psychology in the San Francisco Bay area. I believe that the intense
training and supervision I received provided a solid foundation
for clinical work with a broad spectrum of populations and issues.
However, the education I have attained since beginning private practice
in 1992 has taught me so much more about the intricacies and nuances
of human experience. I have been challenged, amazed and astounded
by the strength of the human spirit and the tenacity and innate
healing powers of human beings.
It is with great honor and respect that I work with those who seek
to improve their inner experiences and relationships with others.
My practice has evolved into specializations in the treatment of
couples, and adolescents and adults who have suffered trauma, mood
and anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, compulsive over-eating
or relationship dissatisfaction. I work collaboratively with clients
to unravel unfulfilling personal and interpersonal patterns. I seek
to assist in refining and broadening healthy strategies for coping
and healing, thus building greater resilience and a more integrated
sense of self - emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually.
I utilize object relations, cognitive-behavioral, developmental
and humanistic approaches. I am Level II trained in Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a highly useful
tool to help strengthen positive internal resources and safely process
trauma.
I have lived in Boulder since 1992 and enjoy running, hiking,
gardening, baking and playing outdoors with my husband and two children.
